After two years in Brazil, we were thrilled to spend a quiet Christmas at home. Granddad Jim, Auntie Jill and Uncle Mike came down to see us. We had a traditional Christmas at home and a turkey feast with all the trimmings.

Catriona got to choose the Christmas tree this year, and she chose one so big we could barely move it. But when we got it all set up, it was lovely and gave the whole house a Christmassy feeling (and smell).

We got the Christmas ale into the bottles

and Catriona helped put the finishing touches on the Christmas cake.

With the kids in their new Christmas Eve jammies, we all settled in for a long winter's nap.
